Ascend Iliniza Norte (5,126 m), a challenging but generally non-technical acclimatization peak. Unlike the Cotopaxi summit climb, this itinerary is designed as a single-day hike from the La Virgen parking area.
✅ Itinerary:
Day 1: Drive from Quito to the La Virgen parking area (about 3,997 m) → Hike to Iliniza Norte summit (allow approximately 5–6 hours uphill) → Descend by the same route (allow about half the ascent time) → Return to Quito.

- ASEGUIM-certified mountain guide (up to 5 hikers per guide)
- Rope, helmet and harness when required by route conditions
- Transport to and from the trailhead

- Good physical condition and prior acclimatization recommended
